Red Velvet Protein Sandwich
We all know Red Velvet is just chocolate…but so much prettier! Our Protizyme Chocolate Cake is perfect for that rich, chocolatey base. The key is the cream cheese filing. We stuffed these Red Velvet Protein Sandwich with a mixture of cream cheese, vanilla, and just a pinch of powdered sugar. Each treat is only 140 calories and packed with 10 grams of protein. We think every day is a good day for dessert!
Ingredients:
1 scoop Metabolic Nutrition Protizyme Chocolate Cake (35g)
1 cup pancake baking mix (120g)
2 Tbsp unsweetened almond milk (30ml)
2 Tbsp egg substitute (30g)
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce (56g)
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 sweetener packets (feel free to leave out or add more)
8 drops red food coloring
Filing
1 brick fat free cream cheese (226g)
1 tsp vanila extract
1 Tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions:
- Mix together all ingredients until smooth
- Drop batter on baking sheet (use baking mat or parchment paper to prevent sticking)
- Bake at 350 for 8 minutes
- While cooling, mix together filling (use electric mixer for best results)
- Add 2 Tbsp filling per sandwich
- Store in fridge
NOTE: You may have leftover filling (makes a great dip!) May need to adjust amount of milk depending on brand of pancake baking mix used
