Açaí bowls are oh so trendy... but often loaded with sugar and lacking any protein or healthy fats. Our Protein Açaí Bowl packs 21 grams of protein, thanks to our Strawberry MusLean! While a standard açaí bowl can have up to 62 grams of sugar, ours has only 5 grams of sugar (minus the toppings). Did we mention it tastes amazing?
NOTES: It's important to use "no sugar added" frozen açaí like Sambazon brand (Target). The topping options are endless... try berries, banana, nut butter, coconut, papaya, mango... whatever you have on hand!
Protein Açaí Bowl
Makes 1 serving
Ingredients:
1-100g "no sugar added" frozen açaí packet
1/2 cup frozen berries (for more color)
1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
40g Metabolic Nutrition MuscLean in Strawberry Milkshake
5-6 ice cubes
Toppings:
1/4 cup protein granola
1 small kiwi, peeled and sliced
1 tsp. hemp seeds
Directions:
Blend a frozen açaí packet with milk and protein. Add ice cubes one at a time, continuing to blend until you have the desired consistency.
Top with desired toppings; we used protein granola, kiwi and hemp seeds. Enjoy!
