This Protein Banana Split tastes like the real deal! Three flavors of protein ice cream tucked inside a halved banana, topped with whipped cream, cherries, chocolate sauce and peanuts...mmm. Hard to believe this scrumptious dessert packs almost 40 grams of protein!
NOTES: We used 15 grams of three different protein flavors each mixed with 1/4 cup of milk to make three ice cream flavors. If you don't have three flavors, you can also just use 45 grams of one flavor mixed with 3/4 cup of milk.
Protein Banana Split
Makes 1 serving
3 tbsp. salt + 10 cups ice
Freezer bag + sandwich bags
45g Metabolic Nutrition Protizyme (we used Chocolate Cake, Vanilla Cake, Strawberry Creme)
3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1 medium banana
3 tbsp. whipped topping
3 maraschino cherries
2 tbsp. sugar-free chocolate syrup
1 tbsp. peanuts
For each flavor, combine 1/4 cup almond milk plus 15 grams of protein powder in its own sealed sandwich bag (will be watery consistency).
Fill a gallon freezer bag 2/3 full of ice plus 3 tablespoons of salt.
Add three sealed sandwich bags with ice cream flavors, shaking down so they're covered with ice.
Let sit for 15 minutes, squeezing bags inside every now and then to ensure even freezing.
Once ice cream is semi-hard, cut banana in half lengthwise and scoop ice cream into center.
Top with whipped topping, cherries, chocolate sauce, and peanuts.
